I was going through some stats today and in 2000 the US had 5 fatal maulings by various dogs…By 2005 we had 28 of them. Up to 2000, the most maulings in a year were 6 since 1887. Once in a while a pitbull was the mauling dog. After 2000, the majority of the maulings were done by pitbulls and next, rottweilers.
